JOSEPH HEFNER

Joseph has served as The Mount’s Student Minister since November of 2018. Before coming to The Mount, Joseph served at First Baptist Denison in Denison, Texas.  He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Student Ministry from Oklahoma Baptist University and continued his education at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he earned a Master of Arts in Christian Education (Student Ministry) and a Master of Divinity (Student Ministry).

Joseph is married to his high school sweetheart, Sierra, and they have two dogs that they adamantly refer to as “their boys”: Chewy, their black lab, and Po, their white mystery dog.

DID YOU KNOW?

  • The household chore Joseph hates to do the most is folding laundry. When he thinks of doing the laundry, he thinks of separating it, putting it in the washer, moving it to the dryer, done. Folding laundry is torture and falls into the category of cruel and unusual punishment.

  • Joseph’s favorite animated movie is Toy Story 3. A cinematic masterpiece!

  • Joseph tells his wife he loves her every day. (And his dogs as well.)

  • Joseph has always wanted to learn sign language to be able to cross that massive language barrier. He feels getting the opportunity to share the Gospel with someone, who physically can’t hear the Gospel, through sign language would be incredible.
